Let’s face it: this year's new Nathan’s women’s division was created for the Black Widow, Sonya Thomas. And with a $20,000 prize purse available for the women, there is little question that Thomas is going to bring her A game.

Last Saturday, we made our way to New York New York in Las Vegas for the first qualifier to the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Championship at Coney Island. It was a fun event, with an enthusiastic crowd and some great eaters. Among them was Rich "The Locust" LeFevre, a Henderson native and MLE legend, who ate right around 20 HDBs before an appreciative hometown crowd.
